David Mangene 🇺🇸
In February 2020 he published a book called ‘How to not kill yourself – Ten Tips for Troubled Times’. He tries to use humor as a vehicle to start the conversation about depressions, suicide and mental health in general. Which path can you follow to improve your mental health? And the mental health of the people around you? How can we break the taboo around these subjects?
He believes that we have created a culture in which honest conversations about mental illness are still taboo. As a result, he is a man on a mission. He wants to break through that taboo and get us all talking about mental health issues and he’s going to need your help. We men, in particular, are very squeamish when it comes to talking about subjects like depression, addiction, and suicide. We’d rather ride out the storm and hope for the best instead of participating in an honest talk about how we really feel. Sadly, with suicide and depression statistics forever on the rise all over the world, we still have a lot of work to do. It’s high time for a change.
David’s video will be uploaded shortly, but his talk was already penned down in brief by Hanna Maas.
